CIA Bayanihan Textpower Brigade, Inc. was registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission on June 28, 2006 as a non-profit, non-sectarian, charitable and humanitarian organization. It is a transformation of Community Information and Assistance (C.I.A.) and is now called Citizen’s Information and Assistance, a non-profit association that was founded on December 5, 1994 with the mission to provide relevant and concurrent information that can assist and empower the Filipinos by uniting them together through the power of communication or Textpower. Over the past twelve (12) years (1994-2006), the CIA has been able to organize various provincial chapters and enlist over 20,000 members nationwide. Because of its numerous contributions to society, particularly its Operation Tulong program, anti-crime, anti-graft and anti-drugs activities and civic and community assistance, particularly during emergencies and disasters, CIA BAYANIHAN reaped numerous awards and honors from the government and private sector.
With the introduction of modern technology, particularly the new trends in communication such as cellular phones usage, Bayanihan Textpower Brigade was organized to explore the UNTAPPED, UNUTILIZED Power of the cell phone (POWER IN COMMUNICATION) that was the result of a lack of a CENTRAL COMMUNICATION SYSTEM that seeks to unite, serve, inform and anchor users. Hence, the birth of the BAYANIHAN TEXTPOWER BRIGADE .
